1.
What
type of auctions do Gavin Bros. conduct?
Everything
from small household or estate sales to large farm dispersals and heavy
equipment auctions, even multi day antique auctions. With over 60 years in the auction business we have
the experience you can trust to professionally conduct your auction.
2.
How
do I go about having an auction?
Give us a call an
auction professional will come out, access your items and give you an honest
answer as to whether or not you have enough items for an auction. Best part is this is a free service!
3.
Am
I responsible for making a list and advertising?
Gavin Bros. will come
to your property, develop a list of items you would like to sell, take
pictures, and make an auction flyer for your auction. We will also go over where the best places
are to advertise your auction with you and handle sending the ads to various
publications. We advertise in print media,
on numerous websites, on the radio, and direct mail past customers. We also have a weekly auction email update,
sign up today and get information on all upcoming auctions.
4.
Are
there any upfront costs with your auctions?
No. All expenses are deducted from the auction’s
proceeds.
5.
Do
you only conduct auctions onsite, or do you have a separate facility?
We are completely mobile;
therefore we can hold an auction just about anywhere. We have a modern fully
computerized auction clerking and cashiering trailer as well several auction
trucks that allow us to easily hold auctions anywhere. We also rent numerous
buildings at fairgrounds, banquet halls, etc. for indoor auctions and also have
large lots to accommodate machinery auctions.
Just give us a call at (608)524-6416 and we will find the right spot for
your auction.
6.
I
would like to have an auction off site, but I have no way to get my items to an
auction facility. Can you help?
Absolutely! We have trucks and trailers along with a full
service crew that will help pack up, transport, unpack, and set-up your
auction.
7.
How
long does it take to receive payment from an auction?
We offer same day
settlement and guaranteed payment from our auctions. With larger multi-consignor type auctions we
will mail checks out and you could expect to receive payment within 1
week.
8.
I've
heard you sell real estate at auction too. Is this a good way to sell my real
estate?
In many cases, it's a
great way to settle real estate transactions quickly and efficiently. Gavin Bros. would assess your individual case
and needs to determine if an auction would work for your property. Selling at auction often helps sellers realize
higher prices than they had anticipated.
Also with an auction the property is sold “AS IS” and you will get a
CASH offer with no contingencies. You
also close on a date determined prior to the auction. If it wouldn't work the best for you, Gavin
Bros. would work with you to list your home or property in the traditional
manner. Unlike most real estate companies, we have the licensing and staff to
handle either situation...licensed auctioneers and licensed real estate agents
and brokers.
9.
What
about online auctions?
We have sold items all
over the country and throughout the world through our online auctions. We offer many different styles of auctions
including live onsite auctions, live onsite auction with online bidding, and
online only timed auctions. Give us a
call and we will see what suits your items best.
10. How do I get registered to bid for an auction?
When you get to an
auction look for the Gavin Cashier trailer and the cashier will help get you
registered for the auction. To register,
you will need a photo identification card. If
you have a state issued resale number, you will be required to complete
necessary documentation.
11. If I am the successful buyer how do I pay for my
items?
You can pay for your
items at the same cashier trailer as where you got your bidding number. We accept cash and personal or business
checks. If you are purchasing larger
machinery or real estate and are not familiar to the auction company a bank
letter of guarantee or a cashier’s check may be required. We do accept Visa,
Master Card and Discover. There is an additional 3% surcharge added to the
purchase price if you are using a credit card.
If you have any other auction questions feel free to contact us
anytime. We love auctions and would be
happy to tell you all about them!!
The most important thing to remember while attending an auction is
to have fun!!!
